What is Mother Goose Time?

Mother Goose Time is a professionally developed preschool curriculum that nurtures the whole child and supports the child's social, emotional and intellectual growth. Mother Goose Time offers monthly curriculum kits of theme-based, hands-on activities, art projects and early literacy games.

In what ways do you embrace the family in the educational process?

Mother Goose Time believes it is extremely important to provide information and resources that support family involvement in their child’s learning experience. Every month, we provide a collection of tools that guide parents in taking an active role in their child’s education and development. This creates a link from classroom to home learning. Because children come from diverse backgrounds and bring unique perspectives to the learning center, we intentionally design activities that also invite children to bring their experiences from home to the classroom.

How much time does the curriculum take each day?

Because of its flexible design – it can take as much or as little time as you prefer. If you wish to complete all of the recommended daily activities and projects, you would need about 2½ hours per day. This allows time for free choice, rest, snack, outdoor recess, and other child-directed activities.

What age is appropriate for Mother Goose Time?

Our curriculum is age appropriate for children 2½ to 5 years of age. Tips are provided on how to adapt recommended activities throughout the lesson plan to embrace the unique learning style and skill level of each child.

Do you include craft and project materials? Why?

Yes. We include craft supplies for nine projects each month with the exception of basic items such as paint and glue. This simplifies the shopping and prep time for you. All art projects are sorted and pre-counted in separate day bags. Additionally, children benefit from access to unique project materials that are not readily available in retail stores. We include these materials because we buy in large bulk and we pass on the saving to you.

What do you include every month?

We include a complete day-by-day lesson plan book, newsletter, a collection of wall displays, classroom tools (such as games pieces, math manipultives, storybooks, a Spanish bilingual book, sign language cards, posters, activity sheets and cutting and coloring project sheets), art materials and lots more. How is your curriculum set up – daily, weekly, monthly, yearly?

We offer daily lesson plans that revolve around 2 new themes each month. Each day has a corresponding day bag that has presorted materials, wall displays and manipulatives for use on that day. Our curriculum is on a 3-year cycle, in which no theme repeats itself. Every year, curriculum is revised and updated based on current research and methodology.

Can I order just one month?

Yes! You can order month by month or set up a subscription that will automatically ship your monthly curriculum.

Can I order for just one child?

Yes! We have parents and grandparents ordering for their child to use at home. We also have large childcare centers ordering for hundreds of students each month. We customize each box size to match your needs.

Do you serve large centers?

Yes! Large centers are assigned a Mother Goose Time Curriculum Care Manager who is available Monday through Friday to answer any questions pertaining to usage or to support special requests of the director or any of their teachers.

If the number of children I teach changes during the month or year, can I change the number of children I order for?

Yes! Call us at any time to adjust your order number. We also have individual child packets available to ship immediately should a child enter your program midway through a month.

Do I pay extra for the music CD?

No. Brain research demonstrates the importance of music and movement in early years. We include one CD and one set of movement cards in every month. Each month features a different musical genre to introduce children to a range of rhythms, instruments, and styles. (example: jazz, classical, folk…) Additional CDs for the classroom, parents, or children may be purchased.

Do I pay extra for the emergent math and reading supplement?

No. The more Math and More Reading supplement is included every month to offer a series of extension activities that challenge preschoolers who are demonstrating accelerated learning skills. The supplement is also great to use with older children in your after-school daycare program.
